About Comic

This is the one we reach for when the request is artistic font. Comic keeps it simple, which is why it sits here rather than in the reserve pile. It is Art cafe's work. 4.6 out of 5 from 10 reviews — a small sample, but it is the sample there is. It has 894 saves behind it — enough that we trust the demand, not just our own taste.

If you want one use for it, take attractive font: that is the direction the designer clearly had in mind, and it is the one we would follow. A decorative face carries one word, maybe two. If you are tempted to set a whole headline in it, set it in the preview first and see what happens. The reviews have done the testing for you; the preview is all that is left to check.

It answers to celebratory font, childrens events, colorful font and comic font, and that spread of wording is worth noting: a file tagged this consistently usually behaves the way the preview suggests. We keep it under Decorative and Dingbat Fonts, which is where to look if you want the rest of the decorative and dingbat fonts we have gone through. We track what people actually type before they land here: blackletter font pairing, cinzel decorative font pairing, decorative script fonts, modern blackletter fonts and monogram fonts for cricut. If that is roughly what you were after, this font is in the right family. If none of this quite fits, the adjacent requests are decorative, dingbat, blackletter, colour and ornament and they stay on this page.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
