About Cem

This is the one we reach for when the request is album art font. Cem keeps it simple, which is why it sits here rather than in the reserve pile. It sits at 3 saves — too few to call it popular, which is exactly why it is worth a look before everyone else finds it. Credit goes to Bluebird. The buyers who left a word rate it 5.0 out of 5 — 1 review, all of them on the listing.

A decorative face carries one word, maybe two. Set the headline you actually want in the preview before deciding it carries more. Put it to work on apparel font first. If it survives that, it will survive whatever you had in mind next. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.

The listing files it under book cover font, botanical display font, botanical logo typeface and brand identity — those are the words it gets found by, and between them they describe the file better than any category name does. People after this usually search decorative, dingbat, blackletter, colorful and colour too, and the shelf is sorted so those all land in the same place. Most of the traffic on this shelf comes in on blackletter font pairing, cinzel decorative font pairing, decorative script fonts, modern blackletter fonts and monogram fonts for cricut, and we picked the files on it with those requests in mind rather than by browsing prettiest-first. We filed it under Decorative and Dingbat Fonts for the obvious reason, and the shelf is small enough to read end to end.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
