About Ben

Ask for artistic band font and you get a hundred near-misses; Ben is one of the few that answers the question as asked. The listing shows 5.0 out of 5 on 1 review, which is better evidence than the thumbnail. The save count is still small at 2, so read this as our opinion and not a consensus. The designer behind it is Creativeguru.

We would use it the way the listing hints — band poster font — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. Check which characters really exist: decorative sets often stop at the capitals, and you find out when you need an ampersand. The licence tab and the full-size preview are the whole of our due diligence here, and they take about a minute between them.

If you came in looking for boutique logo font, butterfly display font, butterfly wing typeface and concert merch design, you are in the right place — the listing carries all of those, which is the clearest sign the designer built it for that job rather than retitled it afterwards. We keep it under Decorative and Dingbat Fonts, which is where to look if you want the rest of the decorative and dingbat fonts we have gone through. The wording people arrive with is blackletter font pairing, cinzel decorative font pairing, decorative script fonts, modern blackletter fonts and monogram fonts for cricut, and we would rather shelve for those requests than for how a thumbnail looks in a grid. The same shelf also answers to decorative, dingbat, blackletter, colorful and colour, so widen the search there before giving up on it.

How to use this font

  1. Download the font from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — you normally get OTF and TTF of the same face, plus a licence file.
  2. Install the OTF if your software gives you the choice: it carries the alternates and ligatures that make a script face look handwritten.
  3. Restart the app you design in — Canva, Photoshop, Cricut Design Space and Word all read the font list once, at launch.
  4. Read the licence before a paid job: personal and commercial use are priced apart, and a logo often needs the extended one.
